A Note From Susie

“I’m honored to hear your story, feel your pain with you, and find the way to resolve it. I love connecting with you and giving you hope and relief. I love seeing you find your authentic self.

“My primary goal as a therapist is to provide my clients with the support and guidance they need to transform their lives positively. I wholeheartedly believe that through our work together, clients can cultivate a stronger sense of hope and reduce the burdens of stress that may have weighed them down. I want to help them look forward to each new day with genuine excitement and find deeper wells of joy within themselves, fostering confidence in their authentic selves. Equipping clients with the strength and skills to face life’s inevitable challenges in a healthier manner is a cornerstone of my approach

“Nothing brings me greater happiness than witnessing the transformation in my clients, especially when I see their smiles grow brighter as they embark on their journey toward a happier, more fulfilling life.

“As a counselor, I bring a lot of life experience, including some very difficult times that prompted me to begin my own, long, therapy journey. I know what crushing pain feels like. I know deeply that there is wisdom, power and joy in finding one’s authentic self, the one that was simply full of love and trust and positive expectation, before the world changed us. I believe that self-understanding is a big step toward happier relationships.

Outside of Counseling

Outside of the therapy office, Susie enjoys anything in nature! — Sitting by a deep stream that’s clear enough to see trout at the bottom, growing flowers and vegetables (though she claims not to have a green thumb), being with horses: riding, training, and sometimes competing. She’s a longtime Buffs fan! Susie is married and has an adult son whom she believes everyone should meet.

Susie Morton Hornig’s Training

Both life experiences and her personal interests led her to pursue a Masters degree in Psychology from California Southern University, with an emphasis on Marriage & Family Therapy. She is licensed as an MFTC in Colorado, and has trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), CBT, and has experience utilizing the Gottman Method.
