“Our deepest need as humans is to feel “known” by others. I love to truly hear, see, and connect with my clients, and to see that relationship deepen over time. I also love getting to support clients through the spectrum of the human experience.
“In my core, I believe that we are all driven towards healing and have an innate motivation to grow. Therapy can help you feel seen, heard, and understood. If you feel a pull toward something more, or if you feel cut off from yourself and your relationships, I’d love to work with you. Outside of her life as a counselor, Mary Claire is an avid reader, and is always interested in suggestions for good books, shows, and podcasts.
Mary Claire’s Training & Approach to Therapy
In addition to completing degrees in both Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Mary Claire has advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples, AEDP (Level II Therapist), and has trained in EMDR. Rooted in her commitment to providing excellent care to her clients, Mary Claire constantly pursues additional training in her areas of expertise. She is licensed both as a Professional Counselor and Addiction Counselor.
Throughout the therapy experience, Mary Claire helps her clients deconstruct the old narratives that have taught them that they’re “too much” or “not enough” to be worthy of love and genuine connection. She loves to support clients in moving towards more authentic ways of being individually and in their relationships. Mary Claire believes that clients have been doing the best they can with what they have, and she supports them in their desires to grow and to create more fulfilling lives and relationships.
